STEM Story Time by Pelham High School Students

Join us for a special STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Story Time and craft for 3rd and 4th graders! This month, Aanika will take us on a tour of the human body, from the circulatory system, to the the muscular and skeletal systems.

 

This program is for kids in 3rd and 4th grades. Registration is not required, but please arrive on time: first come, first served.



English as a Second Language/Foreign Language (ESL) for Intermediate Students

Join us for a series of ESL classes with Pelham resident, EJ Sepp!

This class is intended for low-intermediate to advanced students who are learning English as a second or foreign language. (No beginners please!)

EJ Sepp has taught ESL for 20 years and is the co-author of English Express New York: A Cultural Reading & Writing Text for English Language Learners.

These classes are walk-ins that do not require preregistration or attending all sessions.

Outside Story Time

Join us for our popular Story Time for infants and toddlers outside on our front lawn. Story Time is designed to enhance early literacy skills and features diverse children’s books in which all children can see themselves represented… plus we have a lot of fun! Please bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Story Time will be held outdoors throughout the year,  but will be cancelled on days when the temperature is extreme, or if it is raining.  Cancellations will be posted on our website at the top of our homepage.  You may also call the Library when we open at 10 a.m. to inquire.

Time-Warp Tuesdays

Time-Warp Tuesdays are for digitizing photos at the Library! Appointments are required. Each time slot is 45-minutes. Art by African Americans: From the Great Migration to the Age of Black Lives Matter Part I

Between the two world wars, millions of African Americans set out on an odyssey known as the Great Migration. In the course of this journey, they created a new identity that would alter the landscape of modern art.

Part I of this story will explore the rich contributions these pioneers made to American culture from the Harlem Renaissance through the Civil Rights Movement. Part II will continue the saga from the age of Black Power protests of the ‘60s through the present day.

Join us as we celebrate the rich contributions these pioneers made to American culture that continue to astonish art lovers today.
