NEW! Prepare Documents from Home
The Town of Pelham Public Library is now offering patrons the ability to create customized documents from home, which they can then have notarized by one of the Library’s notaries via videoconferencing until we resume are usual operating hours. The Nuwav Legal Documents portal, linked here, offers documents for estate planning for the State of New York including wills, power of attorney and medical directives; real estate law (landlord/tenant contracts and disputes, eviction notices); personal finance such as credit and identity theft; and family law including child care authorization and adoption. There are also forms for divorce and name changes as well as matters relating to U.S. Courts, such as bankruptcy, employment discrimination and public information requests. This service is available for free to Pelham patrons with a valid library card.
Although Nuwav is not a law firm and cannot provide legal advice, these forms are valid when completed correctly and used appropriately. Please note that many of these forms require notarization, which can be done via videoconferencing by the Library by emailing pelhamlibrary@wlsmail.org. Our notaries cannot provide legal advice.
