Juneteenth Program: Performance Artist Atiba Wilson
In recognition of Juneteenth, performing and teaching artist Atiba Wilson will present a musical and storytelling demonstration entitled “We Who Believed in Freedom Did Not Rest!” about the participation of Africans in the struggle for self-emancipation. Juneteenth became an official public holiday in New York State in 2020 and commemorates the day that the last enslaved African-Americans in the country were told that they were free. Music, poetry and storytelling will be included in the presentation. To register for this event, click here.
