Congratulations to our Adult Summer Reading Game Winner!
Congratulations to Emily Stanson, a nurse and EMT and the winner of our adult summer reading game! Emily says that she was dyslexic growing up and had trouble reading. During the summer, “all my friends went to fun summer camps but I had to go to reading camp,” she remembers. All of that changed when she was going into 6th grade and the first Harry Potter book was published. She was entranced. “That was my magical summer when I learned to read.” Over the years Emily read all of the books in the series. “Harry and I were both 11 at the same time so we grew up together as the books were published. ”
Emily is now an avid reader and says that “The library has always been my happy place.” This past summer she broke her ankle and couldn’t work, so she read 30 books and decided to enter the drawing for a new Kindle by completing a reading BINGO card. Honorable mention goes to Jennifer Rohr for completing the whole sheet for the second year in a row!
