Planning Our Future
PELHAM LIBRARY UNDERTAKING MASTER PLANNING STUDY
The Town of Pelham Public Library Board of Trustees has initiated a master planning process to prepare for a new chapter in the Library’s service to the community.
The planning process will consider the evolving composition and needs of the Town of Pelham and offer suggested options for improvements to the Library’s facilities to help shape this essential community asset for a generation to come.
The Board has engaged the services of HMA2 + Plan A Advisors, architecture and planning firms, to facilitate the process and develop a Master Plan. The study is being funded by generous donations from patrons and is expected to be completed by early summer.
Catherine S. Campbell, Library Board President said: “Even before Covid, but especially throughout this pandemic, we have seen demand for Library services grow. With the master plan process, the Board is excited to explore new ways to expand and improve the Library’s space and offerings to benefit all.”
“We know the Library plays a vital role in our community,” said Library Director Augusta Turner. “This planning process is designed to ensure it will continue to do so by engaging the community in imagining our future.”
Both HMA2 Architects and Plan A Advisors have extensive experience working with public libraries across the region on master planning, strategic planning, and design projects.
The Town of Pelham Public Library serves the people of the Town of Pelham, which comprises the Villages of Pelham and Pelham Manor, and Westchester County by providing books, materials, information and library services to meet their interests and needs.
