Book Club Discusses “My Beloved World,” December 4th

All are welcome to come to the Library on Thursday, December 4  at 7:30 p.m., when the Book Club will discuss My Beloved World by Sonia Sotomayor, the first person of Hispanic descent to serve on the Supreme Court. The book takes the reader from the Bronx housing project of her childhood all the way to the highest court in the land.

According to this review in The New York Times, “If the outlines of Justice Sotomayor’s life are well known by now, her searching and emotionally intimate memoir, My Beloved World, nonetheless has the power to surprise and move the reader. Whereas the justice’s legal writings have been described by reporters as dry, methodical and technical, this account of her life is revealing, keenly observed and deeply felt.”
The book is available for borrowing at the circulation desk. For more on My Beloved World, click here. For information about the Book Club, click here.

The Book Club will go on hiatus and January and resume on Thursday, February 5, when it will discuss The Light Between Oceans, by M.L. Stedman. at 7:30 p.m. before going on its January hiatus.
