Get Ready for Community-Wide Read of “Hidden Figures”
The Friends of the Town of Pelham Public library have announced that the title chosen for this year’s “Pelham Reads!” event will be the best-selling book Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly.
Hidden Figures tells the stories of several black female mathematicians and their contributions to NASA during the Jim Crow era of the 1940s and 50s. The book comes in young reader and children’s editions and was made into a critically-acclaimed movie in 2017.
