March’s Book Club Discussion: “The Zookeeper’s Wife” Rescheduled for March 19

Due to inclement weather earlier this month, the next meeting of the Library’s Book Club will be on Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m., when the Club will discuss The Zookeeper’s Wife, by Diane Ackerman. The book tells the true story of how Jan and Antonina Zabinski, zookeepers at  the Warsaw Zoo, saved over three hundred people from Nazi hands by hiding refugees in the empty animal cages. With animal names for these “guests,” and human names for the animals, it’s no wonder that the zoo’s code name became “The House Under a Crazy Star.”  New York Times bestseller and winner of The Orion Award in 2008, it is soon to be a movie starring Jessica Chastain.

Copies of books are at the circulation desk and all are welcome!

In April, the Club will read Crossing to Safety, by Wallace Stegner. For the full list of upcoming Book Club selections, click here.
