Picasso in the Pyrenees! Thursday, December 14 at 7 p.m.

The Library is sponsoring this fascinating program on Thursday, December 14 about Picasso’s time in the Pyrenees. The program starts at 7 p.m.

About 100 years ago, a charming mountain town in the foothills of the French Pyrenees called Céret became a center of Modern Art. Up-and-coming artists such as Picasso, Braque, Matisse and Gris spent time in the area. In fact, it was in Céret where Picasso and Braque developed analytical cubism.
Liz Kemble, the founder of Travellati Tours, will show attendees the places these masters lived and worked, who they socialized with, where they traveled, and the work that was inspired by their surroundings and community.
