So, Let's Sew! for Kids

Our machine sewing classes with Solange Bitol Hansen have been super popular! Join us for a sewing class just for kids 8 and up! This class is capped at 6 people, but a waitlist will be kept. Because of high demand, we ask that if you register and cannot attend, that you cancel with 48 hours notice. If you do not give a MINIMUM of 48-hour notice of a cancellation, you will not be able to re-register for another session. If you are interested, please email Tasha at ngross@wlsmail.org. You MUST include your/your child’s name and age, and your phone number. You will receive a confirmation. Register soon, as space and supplies are limited!

Escape from Behind Enemy Lines

Veterans Day may not be until November, but we’re observing early with a story of resistance and daring escape.
Join Rick Feingold, as he recounts the story of how his father Lt. Louis Feingold, a B-17 U.S. Army Air Force navigator, escaped Nazi capture. Lt. Louis Feingold flew 21 bombing missions with the United States Air Force during World War II. After his B-17 was attacked by 7 German fighters he was shot down over enemy-occupied France. Feingold’s escape story is told using letters, maps, photos, and the original fake identity cards. This program takes place on Zoom, and registration is required. To register please click here. Historical Tailoring

This hands-on demonstration teaches historical sewing techniques, the politics behind the fashions, what textiles were used and why, and more. Participants will work on a project to take home. This programs is for adults, but teens ages 12 and up are welcome. Registration is required. To register, please click here. Sign up early, as space and supplies are limited!
This program is made possible through Revolutionary Westchester 250, Westchester County, and the Westchester Library System. It is designed to build awareness and appreciation for the Revolutionary War era in Westchester, in anticipation of the nation’s 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in 2026.
