Virtual Ranger Talk: Walking the Anza Trail-Being Rescheduled
Nov 147:00 pm -
8:00 pm
June 27, 1776 was a big day for the future United States: in Philadelphia, Thomas Jefferson’s draft of the Declaration of Independence was being given its final review before being read in Congress. Meanwhile, on the other side of the continent, another group of people were ending a 1200-mile journey from Sonora, Mexico, to a sandy bay on the Northern California coast. This group, including Native American guides, Spanish soldiers, pregnant women, and more than 100 children, established the town which would one day become San Francisco. Today, the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail covers over 1200 miles, following the 1775-76 Spanish expedition from Sonora to San Francisco. Join us to learn more about the Anza expedition, and how it shaped the United States today. This program takes place on Zoom and registration is required. Click here to register.
We are working to reschedule this program from its original date of November 11th. Stay tuned for updates.
