Pre SAT, ACT and College Essay Strategies for 9th-11th Graders

Curious about how to set yourself up for success on the SAT and ACT in the years leading up to test prep? Overwhelmed by the idea of writing college essays and the timeline on how to prepare?

Join educator and counselor Emily Tuckman Bell for a power hour on the basics for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders to allay anxiety with manageable strategies to ease into preparing for college admissions tests and writing admissions essays. This program is geared for students, but parents are welcome.

Ranger Talk: Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site

We’ve been celebrating Black History all month! But what do you know about the “father of Black History?” 99 years ago, in February 1926, Dr. Carter G. Woodson launched the celebration of “Negro History Week,” the precursor of Black History Month. Join us for this special Ranger Talk from the Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site in Washington, DC, to learn more about Dr. Woodson and the contributions he made to the study and celebration of Black history.
